Bag, cartridge or basket

Basket filters stop coarse debris and protect pumps and heat exchangers; the basket is cleaned and reused. Bag filters carry high dirt loads at low cost, with quick bag changes. Cartridge filters are used where finer, more controlled filtration is needed.

Smart Filter housings come in single, dual-inlet and duplex configurations, with cartridge and basket ratings from 1 to 3,000 µm and multi-bag housings up to 8,000 L/min. A duplex housing lets you change one side while the other stays in service.

Standards and testing

Housings are calculated to EN 13445 or ASME Sec. VIII Div.1, welded to ISO 3834-2, hydrostatically tested to EN 13445-5 and supplied with EN 10204 3.1 material certificates. Flanges are EN 1092-1 / ASME B16.5 and working pressure is 6–80 bar depending on the series. Bodies are carbon steel or 316L / 304 stainless, electropolished on request.

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose a bag or a cartridge filter?

For high dirt loads and relatively coarse particles a bag filter is more economical. For finer, controlled filtration choose a cartridge; many lines use both in stages.
