How a unit is engineered

Design starts with what the machine has to do: the force and speed of each actuator, the cycle time, continuous or intermittent duty, and where the unit will be mounted. We collect nine parameters on a data sheet: flow, pressure, cycle time, voltage, mounting type, port type and size, material, environmental protection and the circuit diagram.

Pump flow and working pressure follow from these, and motor power is calculated from them. We walk you through the proposed system first; the quotation comes after your technical approval.

The project file delivered with the unit

Every unit ships with a circuit diagram and bill of materials drawn to TS ISO 1219-1, with part numbers that match the actual components, general assembly drawings whose item numbers match the circuit diagram, catalogues of critical components, a signalling diagram and an operating instructions booklet. After delivery we train your technical team on the unit free of charge, and we work on site for installation, commissioning and supervision.

Frequently asked questions

What information do you need for a quotation?

Flow, working and maximum pressure, cycle time, supply voltage, mounting type, port type and size, material preference and environmental protection. A rough circuit sketch helps. If some of this is missing, a description of what the machine does is enough to start.

How is motor power calculated?

As a first estimate, P (kW) = pressure (bar) × flow (L/min) / (600 × overall efficiency). For 150 bar and 30 L/min at 85% efficiency this gives about 8.8 kW, so the next standard size, 11 kW, is selected.

Are units tested before delivery?

Yes. On our 800-ton forging press project, commissioning and verification testing were part of the delivery. Valve-fitted manifolds can also be leak and function tested on request.
